We’ve added some additional links on the details pages of our courses in the integrated catalog in Convergence Training Viewer. The links will show up when the course can be purchased in other formats. Most of our CBT titles are currently available in DVD format, and soon they will be available online via pay-per-view. You don’t need to perform any updates to get this feature, it will be available when CTV connects to the catalog.

View Image	Import Your Own Courses	You can now import courses you’ve created with popular authoring tools, or import SCORM courses you’ve purchased from other producers. If you’re not familiar with SCORM, don’t worry, most people aren’t. It’s basically a way to publish courses in a universal format. Click here for more info on SCORM.	By adding import functionality, we’ve turned CTV into a personal learning management system, or LMS. You can now deliver, track, and report results without the complicated software and expensive servers of a conventional LMS. And the best part is that Convergence Training Viewer is FREE!

So we’ve created an easy way for you to enter, track, and run reports on any type of training event such as classroom activities, meetings, presentations, on-the-job training, and more!	Centralizing your training records saves time, keeps you organized, and makes reporting from one consistent source a breeze. With the click of a button, you can now keep a record of any training event and provide printed documentation to trainees, supervisors, or inspectors.

First Time Downloading? – If you haven’t downloaded our free CTV software, its simple. Just visit our website, click the download link and follow the
on-screen instructions. Or, click here for a direct download link.

Already Have CTV Installed? – If you already have a previous version of CTV installed, just “Check for Updates”.
In the “Administration” screen, select the “Updates” tab and click the “Check for Updates” button. CTV will contact our
servers, perform the download and install the updates.

Microsoft just released new Windows updates that will significantly reduce the time it takes to download our software and courses!

Because we used the latest technology to develop our software, some of our customers have been missing the required components. Our installer recognizes this and downloads the required components – this can take a long time! If you’ve installed all the latest updates (specifically Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1), downloading CTV should take less than 5 minutes on a broadband connection. Today our free training viewer, Convergence Training Viewer, has been featured on the Microsoft WindowsClient.NET WPF Showcase. Our application uses Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), the latest technology framework from Microsoft, to provide rich user experiences to our viewers.

For those who don’t know, Convergence Training Viewer is a free, downloadable training access portal designed to view interactive training media. The Training Viewer provides anyone, anywhere, at any time access to a rapidly growing catalog of computer-based training modules.

Convergence Training Viewer requires a complex and highly graphical feature set that must be presented in a way that first time users can grasp the essential elements with little or no prior instruction. WPF is a critical component in achieving that goal. It uses .NET 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft BITS technology.

Convergence Training Viewer delivers training content using a single workstation – Best for smaller companies that need quality training material with minimum administrative functionality or trainers who wish to present in a group or classroom setting.

I had saved a bunch of screenshots in various places over the last few weeks and needed to pull them all together in one location so I could get to them all easily. Roman (Director of Sales here at Convergence) also needed some for an email he was putting together. I thought since I have them all together I would post some of the shots with comments.

In addition to self-paced training, you can now take advantage of presenter mode to present training to groups, meetings and classrooms!

• In self-paced mode, students login to Convergence Training Viewer (CTV) and take computer-based training at their own pace. The content displays the video training as well as text and standard navigation controls. Students complete the training by taking and passing tests.
• In presenter mode, an administrator logs in and launches training in a full-screen environment. The video-training plays in one continuous feed and can be paused and discussed with the group as needed.

Training inside of CTV can be used in either mode, and presenter mode is the first of a set of new features designed to help trainers focus on training.
